What Will I See?
Once youâ€ve gotten to the Museum by following the Directions, the first thing youâ€ll see is the outside of the building.
There are usually empty spaces along the street before this point—or you can park around the corner on Elm Street. |
Â
The bright, lively paint job on the Museumâ€s “Command Center” gives a taste of what is to come. |
Â
But before you head into the Exhibit Area for the tour, take a few minutes to enjoy our “On the Wall Airport” and seaplane base. |
Â
And remember to look up, as well as around. Not all the airplanes have been trapped in cases! |
Â
Here’s the Exhibit Area, where between 700 and 800 of the over 2,000 toys in the Museumâ€s collection are on exhibit at any one time. |
Â
Here’s a close-up of Jimmy Jumbo Jet and some of his friends. |
Â
Computer games (including an elderly version of Flight Simulator), puzzles, coloring books, paper airplanes, and more all wait in the Activity Room to help visitors explore flight. |
Â
There’s even a play table for younger children to enjoy. |
Â
Just under the Heroes of Aviation€ť exhibit, which points out that the next hero might just be . . . you! |
Â
And, of course, don’t forget to spend a little while browsing in the Museum Shop before you go back to looking at your favorite toys in the exhibits. |
